Kara Saucyn grew up in Budd Lake, New Jersey. At the age of two, she was introduced to the world of dance through rhythmics, tap, and ballet classes. Kara’s dance skills rapidly advanced throughout her early childhood, and her parents were encouraged to put her into more advanced classes and join her dance studio’s competitive team.

With a natural proclivity for tap dance, Kara earned back to back national titles with her tap solos, and won her first regional competition with a tap solo at the age of 12. Summers provided additional opportunities to advance her skills by training with members of the Hands Down Tap Company including attending the Syn.Co.Pate summer intensive program. In college, Kara continued her education and growth in dance as a member of the dance team at Ramapo College.

During the years of COVID, nothing, not even closed studio spaces could stop her from dancing and even broadening her horizons. She took this as an opportunity to teach herself flow arts such as prop work with silk fans, fire fans, and hula hoop dancing, eventually progressing with hula hoop dancing enough to perform at various festivals. Since the age of 16, as a dance instructor, Kara has taught classes of various dance styles to all age groups; and throughout her life she has focused on a variety of styles including tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and ballet. Kara is excited for this opportunity to share her love of dance with her students of this next generation!
